REFLECTION & CELEBRATION

Updated: Dec 21, 2018

The month of December evokes many different emotions from individuals as the festivities start, for families and people around the world who celebrate Christmas and the start of a New Year. It is a time of year that can be magical, but also difficult for those that don’t have family or friends. Christmas is about celebrating faith and bringing families and friends together. At Universal Electro Tech and Universal Switchboards, it is a month of reflection and acknowledging our achievements over the past 12 months before our team put their tools down to celebrate Christmas.

We are incredibly fortunate as a business to have experienced four seasons of financial growth and transformation. A year ago, today we were based in a small office in Church Street, Northbridge with a workshop to the side which allowed tools and equipment to be safely stored. Today we are proud to be in beautifully spacious and refurbished offices, with a fully operational workshop, manufacturing Switchboards. Over a period of 12 months, we found a suitable property, put an offer in, agreed a settlement and utilised our teams electrical and project management skills to start our new journey in Belmont, WA.

It was with great intentions that we were moving into the premises with only a few minor changes. Somehow, with one minor change, ideas got bigger and the need to transform the premises became a whirlwind of a multitude of changes. The refurbishment, included a full strip out of all the existing offices and amenities. With an empty shell, we installed new bathrooms, a kitchen, suspended ceilings, carpets, partitioning, tiling, and an epoxy floor and mezzanine in our workshop. The team completed a comprehensive re-wire of all electrical and data throughout the property, enabling satellite internet and a new server to be installed, alongside a state-of-the-art telecommunication system.

With a splash of paint from top to bottom, landscaping completed and signage of Universal Electro Tech and Universal Switchboards to the exterior, the refurbishment has become a noteworthy achievement. The office space is a welcoming environment for both employees and clients. The larger space has allowed us to comfortably expand our compliment of staff by double from last year December, to now. We have been part of three existing employees successfully completing their capstone to qualify as Electricians. In addition, we appointed three new electrical apprentices to be part of the next generation of tradies and a Sales and Marketing Manager, to develop the business into the new media age.

It has been a phenomenal year all round with new employees and clients, electrical contracting projects completed and new opportunities on the horizon. We are thankful to our clients for their constant support over the months and years, which has been part of our continued growth within the market place. As you reflect on your year and celebrate your achievements for 2018, Universal Electro Tech and Universal Switchboards want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Over the years, Christmas has gone beyond faith, families and friends. Christmas is also about engaging in the community, supporting local businesses, slumping into your comfy sofa to watch a feel-good festive movie, singing along to your favourite Christmas song and being enthralled and mesmerised by the glitter, sparkles, lights and décor of the festivities.

Our lights will be off between the 21st of December 2018 to the 7th of January 2019, where we look forward to continuing to work with new and prospective clients on our return from the Christmas break.
